De traditionele Balinese kleding
Traditionele Balinese kleding voor vrouwen bestaat uit de kebaya, een strak zittende blouse met een V-hals en de sarong, een rechthoekige doek die om het middel wordt gewikkeld en tot op de enkels valt. De kebaya kan verschillende lengtes hebben, van kort tot lang. Het materiaal varieert van katoen tot zijde en is vaak versierd met borduurwerk en kantwerk.
De sarong is ook een belangrijk kledingstuk voor mannen. Het wordt gedragen in combinatie met een korte mouwen overhemd, ook wel bekend als de kemeja. De sarong wordt om het middel gewikkeld en valt tot op de knieën. Het materiaal van de sarong varieert, van katoen tot zijde, en kan effen zijn of met patronen en ontwerpen versierd zijn.
De traditionele Balinese kleding heeft echter in de loop der jaren wat veranderingen ondergaan en moderne invloeden zijn geïntegreerd in de traditionele kledingstijl. Zo worden er tegenwoordig ook veel lichtere materialen gebruikt zoals chiffon en andere synthetische stoffen. De kledingstukken zijn ook vaak minder nauwsluitend en hebben een meer comfortabele pasvorm.
Batik
Een andere belangrijke factor in de Balinese kledingcultuur is de Batik-stijl. Batik is een ambachtelijke textiel techniek waarbij was wordt aangebracht op het materiaal en vervolgens geverfd. De was voorkomt dat de verf het materiaal bedekt en creëert een patroon. Batik wordt vaak gebruikt om sarongs, sjaals, blouses en andere kledingstukken te maken. Het is een belangrijke kunstvorm in Bali en wordt gebruikt om verhalen en legendes uit te beelden.
Winkelen
Bali heeft ook moderne winkelcentra, zoals het Beachwalk Shopping Center in Kuta en de Discovery Shopping Mall in Tuban. Deze winkelcentra bieden een breed scala aan internationale merken en luxe artikelen.
