Het is een probleem dat de hele wereld treft, maar het is bijzonder zichtbaar op Bali, vooral langs de kustlijn. Toeristen kunnen echter een belangrijke rol spelen bij het helpen oplossen van het plastic probleem. In deze blog vertel ik je hoe je als toerist op Bali kan bijdragen aan het verminderen van plasticvervuiling.
Gebruik een herbruikbare waterfles en tas
Een van de meest eenvoudige manieren om bij te dragen aan het verminderen van plastic afval op Bali is door een herbruikbare waterfles te gebruiken. Het kraanwater op Bali is niet veilig om te drinken, maar er zijn veel winkels en restaurants die gefilterd water aanbieden om bij te vullen. In plaats daarvan kun je je eigen herbruikbare tassen meenemen om je aankopen in te vervoeren. Door een herbruikbare fles en tassen te gebruiken in plaats van telkens opnieuw de plastic variant te kopen, kun je als toerist het gebruik van plastic verminderen en dus het afvalprobleem verminderen.
Zeg nee tegen plastic rietjes
Plastic rietjes zijn een groot probleem voor het milieu en het zijn vaak de kleine dingen die het verschil maken. Wanneer je uit eten gaat, kun je ervoor kiezen om geen plastic rietjes te gebruiken. Sommige restaurants bieden nu duurzame alternatieven aan, zoals rietjes van bamboe of roestvrij staal. Er zijn verschillende organisaties die regelmatig strandopruimacties organiseren, waarbij vrijwilligers kunnen helpen met het opruimen van afval langs de kustlijn. Door deel te nemen aan deze activiteiten kun je niet alleen bijdragen aan een schonere omgeving, maar ook een positieve impact hebben op de lokale gemeenschap.
